A digital tech visa; or global talent visa, is for experts in their respective field who want to work in the UK. The visa application is a two-stage process with the first stage being an endorsement application to the endorsement body, Tech Nation. Upon successful endorsement, you apply for the visa itself.

Tech nation criteria require applicants to demonstrate that they are recognised experts in their field or to show that they have demonstrated exceptional promise in their field as emerging leaders.

As part of the endorsement process applicant will be required to provide 3 letters of recommendation from experts in the digital technology field who are aware of the applicants’ achievements to date and be able to confirm the applicants’ innovation and significant impact in the digital technology field.

Upon successful endorsement an applicant will be able to apply for the visa itself. The applicant may also select the length of validity of the visa from 1 to 5 years depending on how much IHS fees the applicant wishes to pay upfront.

Any dependant children will have access to public schools, and the main visa holder and any family members will have access to the National Health Service. The visa holders spouse or partner may also be able to work in the UK or study without any restrictions.

Finally, an applicant and any dependant family members will be able to apply for indefinite leave to remain in the UK after a period of 3 years.

A UK innovator visa allows the visa holder to set up & run a new and innovative business. You must have a unique business which requires endorsement from a Home Office approved body which we can help you with if required. You must also have £50,000 funds to invest.

Your business must be new – you cannot join or invest in a business that is already trading. It must be innovative – you must have an original business idea which is different from anything else on the market. Finally, it must be viable, with potential for growth.

Applicants will need to meet the maintenance requirements of £945 cash savings held for 90 days and for any dependents £630 each. Applicants will also need to meet the English language requirement.

A UK sole representative visa; or representative of an overseas business, allows the visa holder to set up a UK branch of an existing over business. You must a senior employee but not a majority shareholder. You must have the authority to take decisions; have enough money to support yourself and meet the English language requirement.

Visa applicants who meet the requirements of a sole representative visa UK; will be granted residence to stay in the UK as a representative of an overseas business for an initial period of 3 years. After the initial grant, a visa holder will be able to extend this visa for a further 2 years from within the UK.

It is important to note that the overseas company wishing to establish a branch in the UK must not already have a branch, subsidiary or other representative in the UK. A pre-existing legal entity may exist but it must not employ staff or have transacted any business. On this basis, an applicant may still be able to come to the UK on a sole representative visa.

A UK spousal visa entitles a visa national to join their British or Settled spouse in the UK or to remain in the UK with their spouse. The main criteria are meeting the financial requirement of £18,600 and an English language test.

Applicants can meet the financial requirement if they have the right to work in the UK themselves or through their British or Settled spouse. They will need to show a household income of £18,600 (before tax).

If the applicant or their partner are not working the financial requirement can be met through cash savings of £62,500 held for six months. The money must be held in a regulated financial institution.

The financial requirement can also be met with certain benefits such as disability living allowance and carers allowance.

UK spousal visa holder will be granted an initial validity of 2.5 years after which they will need to extend for a further 2.5 years and meet the same requirements. After 5 years of continuous residence in the UK; a spousal visa UK holder can apply to settle permanently in the UK – also known as indefinite leave to remain.

Once a spousal visa holder has successfully obtained indefinite leave to remain in the UK; they may apply for Naturalisation straightaway without the need to wait for 12 months.

A skilled worker visa allows a visa holder to undertake employment with a UK company. Applicants will need a confirmed offer of employment from a UK based employer in the form of a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).

Applicants will also need to meet the maintenance requirements of £945 cash savings held for 90 days and for any dependents £630 each. Finally applicants will need to meet the English language requirement.

Once a UK skilled worker visa holder has continuously lived in the UK for a period of 5 years, they may be entitled to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR). The visa holder can spend 180 days in a continuous 12 month period to meet the continuous residence requirement.

A UK visitor visa entitles a visa national visit the UK for a short-term period. The visit can be for general tourism, visiting family or to conduct business such as meetings or training. The applicant will need to show they have the funds to cover the cost of the trip as well as the intention to return at the end of their visit.

Applicants may be sponsored by friends or family in the UK but they must have strong ties to their home country to show their intention to return.
