UK visa tips for when you are planning on making a UK visa application for the first time, which can be daunting. So to help you we have compiled 5 key tips to help you succeed.
01. Apply early, not late!
Apply for your UK visa early as possible to deal with any issues that may come up during the course of the application. Also, allow up to 8 weeks for your application to be processed once you have submitted it.
02. Apply from your home country.
Unless there is no visa application centre (VAC) in your country of residence or home country, you should always apply from that country where you are permanently based. The only exception to this is if you are applying for a UK visitor visa and have legal status to be in a third-country.
03. Submit original documents.
Always submit original documents as part of your application. The British Embassy don’t usually accept photocopies and providing these may lead to delays or even a refusal.
04. Provide translations.
…of any documents which are not in English or Welsh. These translations must be produced by a certified translator – a translator whose only job is to translate documents.
05. Do not make travel plans.
Do not book any international travel whilst your visa application is being processed and before you have secured a UK visa. It is possible that you may be contacted or asked to attend an interview as part of the visa process.
