Applicants can meet the financial requirement if they have the right to work in the UK themselves or through their British or Settled spouse. They will need to show a household income of £18,600 (before tax).

If the applicant or their partner are not working the financial requirement can be met through cash savings of £62,500 held for six months. The money must be held in a regulated financial institution.

The financial requirement can also be met with certain benefits such as disability living allowance and carers allowance.
