Do I qualify?
A UK sole representative visa; or representative of an overseas business, allows the visa holder to set up a UK branch of an existing over business. You must a senior employee but not a majority shareholder. You must have the authority to take decisions; have enough money to support yourself and meet the English language requirement.
Visa applicants who meet the requirements of a sole representative visa UK; will be granted residence to stay in the UK as a representative of an overseas business for an initial period of 3 years. After the initial grant, a visa holder will be able to extend this visa for a further 2 years from within the UK.
Any dependant children will have access to public schools, and the main visa holder and any family members will have access to the National Health Service. The visa holders spouse or partner may also be able to work in the UK or study without any restrictions.
It is important to note that the overseas company wishing to establish a branch in the UK must not already have a branch, subsidiary or other representative in the UK. A pre-existing legal entity may exist but it must not employ staff or have transacted any business. On this basis, an applicant may still be able to come to the UK on a sole representative visa.
